DAY
1
BYE BYE, BRIZZY
We head westwards along the
Warrego Highway, bound for
adventure whilst basking in Nissan’s
laid-back luxury. Stopping at
Jondaryan Woolshed proves to be
a fascinating insight into Australia’s
pioneering history. We get the
flavour of the Aussie outback with
billy tea and freshly cooked damper.
Destination this evening is an idyllic
cabin at ‘Bethany’, on the Bjelke-
Petersen farm near Kingaroy.

DAY 6
COASTING HOME
On our last night, we stay on the
Sunshine Coast, and visit the famous
Queensland icon, The Big Pineapple,
on the way. We also call in at Yandina
to visit The Ginger Factory and see the
cane train on the factory’s rainforest tour.
Another of the coast’s attractions is the
wacky Ettamogah Pub where I'm told
that ettamogah is an Aboriginal word
for ‘place of good drink’. Cheers, mate!

DAY
2
FLO’S PUMPKIN SCONES
We set out via the Bunya Highway.
A highlight is visiting Jimbour House,
near Jandowae in the Queensland
outback. A magnificent stately home
and well worth a visit. We return to our
'Bethany' farmstay, where we enjoy
meeting John Bjelke-Petersen and
have pumpkin scones with Lady Flo.
DAYS
3-5
PEANUT PARADISE
Our holiday includes a visit to the
Bunya Mountains in Kingaroy,
the peanut capital, and a stay
in Gayndah, the oldest town in
Queensland. After a glorious
two nights at Woodgate Beach,
it’s time to return to the Bruce
Highway towards Brisbane.
Despite the rain, the Nissan
Tiida has great road-holding
capabilities and efficient brakes,
making it an easy car to drive in the wet.
► Power windows,
cruise control and
remote keyless entry.
Thanks to a blue Nissan Tiida, we’ve
had a fabulous true-blue holiday, under
mostly blue Aussie skies.
Brenda and Al Burge are winners in the HOLIDAY IN TIIDA COMPETITION.
